THE FORMULA
How is GST calculated?
GST can be calculated by applying the GST rate to the original price. When the price already includes GST, the original amount can be calculated by removing the tax portion from the total.
Add GST GST = Price × GST Rate ÷ 100 Total = Price + GST
Remove GST Original = Inclusive Price ÷ (1 + GST Rate ÷ 100) GST = Inclusive Price − Original Price
